'Trial and Error' is a dimension shaped by both digital and physical reality. The video explores the creation of this intermediate dimension itself. From idea to production, it unfolds in an irregular spiral motion, characterized by trial and error.
These trials and errors lead to further attempts and failures, eventually culminating in a result. The process does not solely take place in the mind of the creator, but also through interaction with the environment and engagement with 3D and 2D software. Conversations with others reshape or solidify ideas, releasing energy that influences the creative process. While working with these tools, each click reveals a new path - just as every thought and conversation does.
These turns are made visible in Joana Pratschke's video Trial and Error, with sound brought to life by the producer jpeg.love. Entering this resulting dimension allows one to experience the creative process of Trial and Error and understand it as a metaphor for the process of becoming.
The work was awarded the Audience Award at the Lette Design Award in 2021.
